Type and Scope of services to be performed:

The cost of energy bills can have a significant impact on the budgets of both low-income residents and on nonprofit organizations. Energy costs can contribute to individuals and organizations having to divert dollars from meeting other important household or organizational needs in order to cover these expenses. The Energy Efficiency program works to reduce the impact of energy bills by providing energy audits, upgrades, and education for both individuals and nonprofit organizations. Through these efforts it helps to create a culture that supports long-term sustainability and the success of all members of our community by promoting social equity and responsible and efficient use of resources.

Since 2007, D-ONE (formerly DOSP) has distributed and managed approximately two million dollars annually as part of the Xcel Energy Franchise Agreement with the City and County of Denver. By City Ordinance, these funds are targeted for low-income energy efficiency programs for individuals and non-profit agencies.

D-ONE administers the funds at the direction of the Mayoral-appointed Facilities and Energy Efficiency Advisory Board made up of non-profit, for-profit and government representatives.
