Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.
The proposed ordinance is being undertaken to authorize a ballot question to be presented to the electors of the City and County of Denver at the special municipal election to be held on November 2, 2021. The ballot question seeks authorization to issue general obligation bonds for the purpose of financing and/or refinancing the cost of repairs and improvements to the Denver transportation and mobility system.
Debt authorized under the 2021 Program will be phased and will result in several series of General Obligation Bonds issued over time. Each debt issuance must be approved by City Council.
The form of the ballot question is provided.
