A resolution approving a proposed Second Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Denver Food Rescue to operate the No Cost Grocery Programs for free at approximately 20 locations as funded by the City and County of Denver’s Healthy Food for Denver's Kids Initiative.
Amends a grant agreement with Denver Food Rescue by adding $303,660 for a new total of $516,757 and one year for a new end date of 7-31-22 to operate the No Cost Grocery Programs that provides fresh, healthy food for free at approximately 20 locations as funded by the city’s Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids initiative, citywide (ENVHL-202159407). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 11-8-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 9-15-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Denver Food Rescue will continue to operate the No Cost Grocery Programs that provides fresh, healthy food for free at approximately 20 locations, and plan to open 4 new programs in the Denver area. These locations specifically serve youth ages 5-18 and their families, DFR plans to continue having volunteers deliver food and run the No Cost Grocery Programs, and expand the program to include 5 community facilitators for education. DFR will also be expanding the Self-Sufficiency and Nutrition Program for 150 3rd-5th graders with a summer program.
