A bill for an ordinance establishing a new Fund in the Grant and Other Money Projects Series for the “Convention Center Settlement Funds” program.
Establishes a new capital improvement fund (38432 Convention Center Settlement Funds) within the Grant and Other Money Projects Fund Series to receive and expend funds related to the Convention Center expansion project. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-2-21.

In 2021, Denver received $9 million of cash associated a settlement on the Convention Center Expansion project. To properly account for these funds, this companion ordinance to requests the creation of a new capital improvement project fund within the Grants and Other Money Projects Fund Series. Fund 38432, titled Convention Center Settlement Funds, will be for the monies received from the settlement to be used for capital improvements at the Colorado Convention Center. The expending authority will be the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The fund will be appropriated and non-lapsing.
