A resolution approving a proposed Contract between the City and County of Denver and Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. for traffic signal upgrades and improvements in Council Districts 1, 5 and 10.
Approves a contract with Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. for $2,935,650.01 and for one year for traffic signal upgrades and improvements made to curb ramps, sidewalk, curb and gutters, curb returns, and damaged sidewalks at seven intersections located at Zuni Street at 32nd Avenue, Zuni Street at 35th Avenue, Zuni Street at 44th Avenue, Zuni Street at 46th Avenue, Zuni Street at 48th Avenue, 11th Avenue and Josephine street and East Alameda and South Newport Way in Council Districts 1, 5 and 10 (202160104). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 12-20-21. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-16-21.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
This is the 2019-2021 Traffic Signal Upgrade - Mill Levy 12 & NTS-1 Project. The overall objective of this project is the reconstruction five (5) traffic signals and install new ones (2) within the City and County of Denver - total seven (7) traffic signals. The locations of these traffic signals are at the following intersections: 1. Zuni Street at 32nd Avenue 2. Zuni Street at 35th Avenue 3. Zuni Street at 44th Avenue 4. Zuni Street at 46th Avenue 5. Zuni Street at 48th Avenue 6. 11th Ave Josephine(new) 7. Alameda at Newport(new). In addition to the traffic signal upgrades, there will be improvements made to curb ramps, sidewalk, curb and gutters, curb returns, and damaged sidewalks, and curb and gutter at each intersection for enhanced pedestrian access. Ramp improvements will be constructed to current CCD standards and specifications. In addition, there are existing storm sewer inlets and manholes at the intersections require relocation or resetting. A new storm inlet will also be installed at the intersection of 32nd Avenue & Zuni Street.
