Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:

Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.

The Climate Change and Public Health Learning Grant was to perform environmental/literature/peer city scan of messaging related to vulnerable populations and specific climate change events, especially extreme heat and to create a heat vulnerability map/index. The work supported by the grant was conducted by the climate team when they were a part of the Environmental Services Enterprise Fund in Denver Department of Public Health and Environment, before the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency was created in 2020.  The grant was from the Public Health Institute and expired in 2018 with a cash balance of $991.08. The grantor has authorized the City to use the unspent grant funds, which will be transferred back into the Environmental Services Enterprise Fund 78100-6506100, where staff costs in past years were paid from.
