Amends a contract with Rider Levett Bucknall, LTD by adding $1.5 million for a new total of $9,500,000 and 2.5 years for a new end date of 12-31-24 to incorporate key additional scope elements for the Colorado Convention Center Expansion Project in Council District 9 (DOTI-202161648; DOTI-201950568). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 3-7-22. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 1-18-22.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Rider Levett Bucknall LTD was awarded the Master On-Call for the Colorado Convention Center Expansion Project Management Services Contract for a three-year term - 07/15/2019 - 07/14/2022 with the possibility of extending the term for an additional two years. Contract term date will extend to 12/31/2024. Additional capacity will be added.
When the City embarks on a major capital improvement project such as the Convention Center Expansion, sufficient financial reserve is held to mitigate risk to project delivery and debt obligations. The CCCXP project is well into construction and is on-schedule and within-budget. Based on the successful progress of project delivery, there is an opportunity to allocate some of the financial reserve to cost-effectively incorporate key additional scope elements. This includes expanding the terrace, adding parking ramps, improvements to enhance convention space operability, and FF&E. These scope elements were originally envisioned during the planning process, but not initially included into the base project scope at time of contract execution. The construction of these elements will further meet tourism demands and enhance the competitiveness of the Colorado Convention Center. This proposed amendment will provide program management capacity to support maximizing opportunities to allow for incorporating additional scope elements.
