Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:

Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.

Request budget appropriation of $10,138,143.20 for the Denver Great Kids Head Start Program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Head Start is a federally funded program providing qualified families access to preschool and limited healthcare at no cost. The Office of Children’s Affairs (OCA) receives this grant on an annual basis.  OCA is requesting to establish budget based off the award letter from the funder which equates to 80 percent of the total forecasted award. The total award estimate is $12,672,679. Establishing budget will facilitate continuity of service provision between program years.
