A resolution approving a proposed Amendment to an Agreement between the City and County of Denver and CI/DRC, LLC, dba Chick-Fil-A concerning a three-year Term extension for COVID-19 relief measures on food and beverage concession services at Denver International Airport.
Amends a concession agreement with CI/DRC, LLC, dba Chick-Fil-A, to add 3 years for a new end date of 7-31-2026 as a COVID-19 relief measure provided to all eligible concessionaires in recognition of the effects of the pandemic on food and beverage services at Denver International Airport in Council District 11. No change to other contract terms (201523074). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 5-9-22. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 4-6-22.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Denver International Airport (DEN) is requesting to amend CI/DRC, LLC dba Chick-Fil-A. The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant disruption to air travel and precipitous drops in concession sales at DEN. This amendment request will help support the concessionaire and their workforce and ensure that essential goods and services will remain available to passengers and employees at DEN. This amendment will extend the agreement term by three (3) years from the agreement expiration date. This 3-year COVID-19 related contract extension offers the same benefit that was granted to our other concessionaires in 2021. This specific contract amendment was delayed as DEN was working through Joint Venture ACDBE issues which have now been resolved.
DEN approved a change of ownership of CI/DRC dba CHICK-FIL-A, which resolved the Joint Venture ACDBE issues that the DEN Commerce Hub had identified. Previously owned by “Concessions International, LLC”, now owned by “Skyport Hospitality, LLC”. Previous and current ACDBE partner remains with Delarosa Restaurant Concepts, Inc. with an increase of participation from 40% ACDBE participation to 49% ACDBE Participation.
