A resolution approving a proposed First Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Colorado Legal Services to add additional funds to provide eviction legal assistance to eligible households.
Amends an agreement with Colorado Legal Services by adding $105,000 for a new total of $1,217,520 to provide eviction legal assistance to eligible households, citywide. No change to agreement duration (HOST-202262180-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 7-11-22. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 6-8-22.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Lawyers and paralegals will provide tenants with free legal information and advice, full legal representation, as well as education, outreach, referrals for resolving civil legal matters related to an eviction or impending eviction, and resident support for complex financial, social, emotional, and medical needs.
This amendment adds $105,000 to an agreement with Colorado Legal Services to provide eviction legal assistance to eligible households in the City and County of Denver. Lawyers and paralegals will provide tenants with free legal information and advice, full legal representation, as well as education, outreach, and referrals for resolving civil legal matters related to an eviction or impending eviction. The added funds will be used for a social worker who will work as an integral part of the legal team to help its low-income clients with complex financial, social, emotional, and medical needs in 2022 and 2023. This $1,217,520 contract is expected to serve approximately 1,800 households (600/program year).
