Approves a non-financial contract with Life-Line for five (5) years to occupy and operate the Youth Empowerment Center, located at 1240 West Bayaud Avenue in Council District 7, and to provide and secure programming and services focusing on youth violence prevention for youth who are experiencing high rates of violence in the community (MOEAI-202261805). Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The Youth Empowerment Center is the former Police Athletic League (PAL) Building located in Council District 7 and was purchased by Denver Economic Development and Opportunity (DEDO) to become a central location for programs and services for youth in the neighborhood, and citywide, who are experiencing high rates of violence. The Office of Children’s Affairs (OCA) released a Request For Proposals (RFP) with community and youth input, to secure a partner who would ensure quality programs and services, as well as partner with other local organizations focusing on youth violence prevention. The vendor’s scope of services as well as the use and occupancy of the building are covered in the agreement.
