Amends a contract with Ability Connection Colorado, Inc. by adding two (2) months for a new end date of 8-31-2022 to allow for program completion and transition of currently enrolled youth to the new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) workforce development services provider. No change to contract amount (OEDEV-202158706-01/ 202263578-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 10-3-2022. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 8-31-2022.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This contract extends by two months the current and final year of a three-year partnership with Ability Connection Colorado, Inc. as a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out-of-School Youth service provider for the City and County of Denver with a special focus on training and employment services for the disconnected youth population of Denver, being defined as age 16-24 and neither enrolled in school nor currently employed.
The extension will allow for two additional months of project close-out, and for additional time to transition youth being served by Ability Connection Colorado to the current provider, Eckerd Connects. The extension will allow for Ability Connection Colorado to continue to work with eight youth who will be completing the program by the end of August 2022 and for additional time to transition 29 additional young people who are in the middle of the program to their new case manager.
Scope of Work
For the past three years, Ability Connection Colorado has provided Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act services for out-of-school youth on behalf of Denver Workforce Services. This has included customized employment and training services for eligible youth ages 16-24. This two-month extension will allow for additional time to transition customers to the current provider, Eckerd Connects without adding any additional dollars to the contract.
