Type and Scope of services to be performed:

Healthy Food for Montbello Kids will continue working with the school and nonprofit partners to utilize unused physical space in the school facilities to work with children and youth to grow fresh, healthy food for their families in the community. Each school, including Academy 360, Greenwood Academy, Monarch Montessori, and McGlone Academy, will implement educational programs delivered in-person and virtually by CFA and CLP to teach students where food comes from, how to grow food for their community, and the importance of eating a healthy diet as a means to mitigate health disparities. Students will incorporate principles of conservation and utilization of food waste through composting as a means to increasing food production within their community. Since the five participating schools collectively serve over 3000 children and youth and their families, the impact on food access needs in the community will be extensive. Students will implement micro-enterprise projects in which they will grow and sell food to support their school farms and gardens. Struggle Of Love Foundation will continue to provide sacks of food on a daily basis and meals will be provided to those children participating in summer garden camps
