Type and Scope of services to be performed:

After the successful completion of the Public Engagement and Concept Design Effort for the Skyline Park Improvements bond project, Parks Planning, Design & Construction is requesting additional services and a time extension of two years to complete 30% design to conclude Stage 1 work. The requested time extension and addition of services would mean that the amended contract would expire on July 14, 2024, for a total term of about four and one-half years.

Since the original contract, DPR and the design team has increased the scope area to include all of Block 2 (between 16th Mall and 17th Street) as Phase 1.  The original contract only anticipated redesigning a portion of Block 2 as Phase 1, which was the original scope as part of the Elevate Denver Bond project.  Since the start of the project, additional scope area as well as funding from Denver Parks & Recreation has been added. The reason for this increase of scope area is the design and construction efficiencies of designing all of Block 2 rather than a portion of this area. This was not budgeted as part of the original contract because we did not have a concept design for the project at this time, so the construction and design efficiencies of design and constructing all of Block 2 at once had not been determined. This has increased the cost, scope area, need for additional specialized consultants, and additional time to complete.

Scope of work includes 30% final design / construction documentation services for Phase 1 (Block 2) of the Skyline Park Improvements project.
