This bill request establishes the “Opioid Abatement” Special Revenue Fund in the General Government Fund series, fund number 11888, to accept settlement amounts related to opioid abatement or opioid related collections resulting from lawsuits or other payment agreements. This fund will allow city agencies, as advised by the DOAC, to collect and distribute funds quickly and in accordance with any expenditure terms and set out by the payment agreements. 

 

The expending authority of the new Special Revenue Fund will be the Department of Finance.  This fund will be revenue based and non-lapsing.
