Type and Scope of services to be performed:

Leveraging EDI Community Project Funding Grant, the City and County of Denver will acquire three adjacent parcels in Northeast Denver to acquire the Stay Inn, a 96-room hotel at 12033 E 38th Avenue, Denver 80239 (located within a half-mile of the Regional Transit District (RTD) light-rail station), as well as two adjacent parcels are located at 3835 Peoria Street & 3805 Peoria Street in Denver, CO. This property, once purchased, will soon operate as permanent supportive housing serving individuals experiencing homelessness.

In the 2022 Point-in-Time Count <https://www.mdhi.org/blog/first-phase-of-annual-homeless-count-released>, there were 4,794 individuals observed experiencing homelessness in the City and County of Denver. To serve this need, HOST will competitively procure a partner to operate the supportive housing in the former hotel and will evaluate proposed uses for the two vacant adjacent parcels. The initial application for a Community Project Funding Grant in 2020 called for the property to be acquired for shelter for people experiencing homelessness with eventual conversion to permanent supportive housing. Shelter is no longer contemplated on the site.  Unlike new construction on a vacant site, this project will require minimal renovation to immediately deliver homes to at least 96 individuals currently experiencing homelessness. The additional vacant property on this site will provide options for additional housing or services in the future, amplifying this impact of this acquisition.
