On August 22, 2022, the City declined participation in the State’s paid family leave program (FAMLI) in lieu of an internal plan, the Care program.

 

Now that the City has opted out, the Charter requires that City Council must act to grant the Career Service Board the authority to create the Care program in Career Service Rule. The attached proposed changes grant the Career Service Board that authority
