A resolution approving a proposed Amendatory Agreement between the City and County of Denver and Denver Health and Hospital Authority to continue providing family nutrition services during pediatric appointments at several outpatient clinic locations.
Amends a grant agreement with Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA) by adding $522,650 for a new total of $1,001,033 and one year for a new end date of 9-30-2023, through funding from the Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids Initiative, for DHHA to continue providing family nutrition services during pediatric appointments at several outpatient clinic locations, in Council Districts 3, 8, and 9 (ENVL-202159936/ ENVHL-202264828-01). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 1-9-2023. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 11-23-2022.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Denver Health and Hospital Authority will continue their
programming in partnership with WIC, specialized co-enrollment,
will improve Denver’s suboptimal enrollment rates of these nutrition
programs and reduce overall food insecurity in households with
children by ensuring that eligible families become and stay enrolled
in food assistance programs that increase food and economic
security. This project will be an extension and expansion of a pilot
project with WIC at Denver Health. This proposal will enable patients
to be enrolled in and receive WIC services during pediatric and
OB/GYN appointments at several Denver Health outpatient clinic
locations including Eastside, Montbello, Westside, Webb Pediatrics,
and Pena Clinic.
