As required by the Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS), this request seeks City Council approval to extend the disaster declaration first issued by Mayor Michael B. Hancock on December 15, 2022 and currently running through March 27, 2023 for an additional period through April 24, 2023, as related to sheltering of migrants and asylum seekers. Under CRS ?24-33.5-709(1), the effect of the period of local disaster cannot exceed seven days except by or with the approval of City Council.
