A bill for an ordinance granting the authority to acquire through negotiated purchase or condemnation of all or any portion of any property interest as needed in completing sidewalk gap improvements along a portion of North Newton Street and at the northeast corner of Federal Boulevard and West 45th Avenue as part of Council District 1 and Council District 3 Sidewalk Gap Improvement Project in Council Districts 1 and 3.
Grants the authority to acquire through negotiated purchase or condemnation of all or any portion of any property interest as needed in support of the Elevate Denver Bond Sidewalk Gap Program, including easement interests, access rights, improvements, buildings, fixtures, licenses, permits and other appurtenances, located at the northeast corner of Federal Boulevard and West 45th Avenue in Council District 1, and North Newton Street between West 12th Avenue and West 13th Avenue in Council District 3. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 4-18-2023.

The Project will facilitate removal and replacement of driveways and installation of new sidewalks in Council District 1 and Council District 3 and is part of the Sidewalks Gap Project. The Project will require negotiated purchase or condemnation of all or any portion of any property as needed. This includes easement interests, access rights, and improvements. This ordinance also grants the right to negotiate and execute all agreements and to process all necessary payments. The Sidewalk Gap Improvement Project requires one (1) permanent easement and two (2) temporary easements. These include the following:
• NEC of Federal Blvd. & W. 45th Ave. (PE-01)
o Residential (Duplex)
• A segment along the East side of N. Newton St., near the SEC of W. 13th Ave and N. Newton St. (TE-01)
o Residential (Duplex)
• A segment along the East side of N. Newton St., between W. 12th Ave. and W. 13th Ave. (TE-02).
o Residential (Multi-family, 4 to 8 units)
