Through the community led efforts done by Mrs. Jessie Carey and Mr. Julian Carey and the descendants of William Whitsell, a full packet was presented to the PRAB which included: over 500 signatures in support (500 are required) and seven letters of support. The Denver Parks and Recreation Advisory Board held a public hearing on the January 11, 2023 meeting, PRAB approved the motion unanimously.The unnamed park, currently known as Unnamed 42nd & Lisbon Park, sits approximately between E. 40th Avenue and E. 42nd Avenue on its north/south boundaries, and N. Lisbon St. and N. Kirk as its east/west boundaries and is considered a community park.
