Designation of La Raza Park at 1501 W 38th Avenue in the Sunnyside Neighborhood as a district for preservation per Chapter 30 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code. The Latino/Chicano/Mexican American historic context identified La Raza Park as a culturally and historically significant site for Denver's Latino/Chicano Community. In coordination with
Denver Parks and Recreation, Councilwoman Sandoval's office and the community, Landmark Preservation staff wrote the designation application. The designation application-La Raza Park Historic District-was submitted by Councilwoman Amanda P. Sandoval, as La Raza Park is in her district.
