Type and Scope of services to be performed:
The Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program is the only Federal program dedicated to the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. HOPWA provides rental assistance and case management to address the supportive housing needs of low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. HOST contracted with three service providers in 2023 to provide housing-focused case management and three types of rental assistance: Tenant Based Rental Assistance helps pay a portion of rent for up to two years, Short Term Rent or Mortgage Assistance provides a portion of rent for up to 21 weeks, and Permanent Housing Placement assists with security deposits and first month’s rent to help someone get into a permanent housing unit.
