Approves a grant agreement with LifeSpan Local, LLC, for $918,038 and through 7-31-2024, through funding from the Healthy Food for Denver’s Kids Initiative, to provide food and outreach materials to families through schools, early childhood education providers, and other youth facing organizations, to help feed and connect children and families to existing community food organizations, citywide (ENVHL-202263672). The last regularly scheduled Council meeting within the 30-day review period is on 1-3-2023. The Committee approved filing this item at its meeting on 9-21-2022.

Type and Scope of services to be performed:
Lifespan Local proposes to sustain and grow their offerings of food to families and children through schools, Early Childhood Education providers, and other youth facing organizations, connect children and their families to existing community food organizations by distributing outreach materials to and meeting with local schools, ECE centers, FFN providers, and youth-facing non-profits. Lifespan Local, through the collaborative Southwest Food Coalition, will partner with Benefits in Action (BIA) who will provide benefits enrollment and education at SWD schools and ECE providers.
Location (if applicable): Athmar Park, Barnum, Barnum West, Ruby Hill, Sun Valley, Mar Lee, College View-South Platte, Valverde, Villa Park, Westwood, Harvey Park, and Harvey Park South in Districts 2, 3, and 7.
