Executive Summary with Rationale and Impact:

Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.

This ordinance requests the creation of three new capital improvement project funds within the Parks, Trails, and Open Space Series, for the purposes of planning, design, and construction of capital improvements.

Fund 36015 titled Parks Debt Payments for the expenditures related to financial obligations related to parks, trails, and opens space capital projects.

Fund 36045 titled Parks Citywide Projects for expenditures related to capital maintenance activities.

Fund 36050 titled Parks Improvement Projects for expenditures related to planning, design, and construction of existing or new park, trails, or open space.

The cost center associated with these funds will be 700000, and the funds will be appropriated and non-lapsing

Establishment of these funds follows the structure in other capital improvement fund series used for expenditures related financial obligations, capital maintenance, and new capital project improvements. It also enables annual reporting of expenditures consistent with the Parks, Trails, and Open Space Program Plan adopted by City Council in CB-0538.
