This bill request establishes the Green Building Fund, per the companion ordinance that revises the DRMC concerning green buildings. The revenue deposited in the fund will include payments in lieu of implementing vegetative roofs, as specified in the companion ordinance. Allowable uses for this fund include green space acquisition within the city, improvements to existing green space, water quality improvements and green infrastructure, urban forest protection and expansion, green roof creation, and solar adoption and energy efficiency for low-income and affordable housing populations.
