Detailed description of the item and why we are doing it. This can be a separate attachment.

Denver Public Safety Youth Programs was awarded the contract to perform detention screening and pre-trial release services for the 2nd Judicial District Senate Bill 94 Program which is funded by the State of Colorado Division of Youth Corrections.

Senate Bill 94 is a statewide initiative that provides for an appropriation of funds to the Department of Human Services/Division of Youth Corrections to be distributed amongst each judicial district. The funds are intended for services that prevent juveniles from being held in detention, sentenced to detention, or committed to the Department of Human Services. The funds are also used to reduce the length of time the juvenile is held in detention or a commitment facility.
